How to balance a checkbook video

Keeping a running balance in your checking register is great; however, you could forget to make an entry or have bank fees you did not enter. Checking your running balance with the statement from the bank monthly (balancing your checkbook) will help you be sure you and the bank show the same total.

Voiding Checks

• If you make a mistake when writing a check, VOID the check
• If you VOID a check, write VOID across the check in large writing
• Also indicate the check number as Void in your check register
• Shread the voided check as soon as you are able
